Extend your Myanmar itinerary. Fly into Kalaw where your guide and driver will welcome you and take you to Pinlaung. A local family will play host and join you in your tour of the town. You visit the remains of the old wooden palace, seat of the last prince of the region. The local family will arrange lunch in their home. Afterwards, enjoy a scenic train ride to Saung Byaung, where your next guide will welcome you and drive you to Loikaw.
Today you will trek to visit different communities and you will meet and interact with the longneck women. Upon your return to Loikaw you will enjoy a tradition Kayah dinner.
Drive to Hta Nee La Leh where your guide will share insights into the animistic religion of communities and you will learn of their totems and their practices. Then, an oxcart will take you to the Seven Lakes where spectacular sights and Kayah Barbequeue are waiting for you to enjoy. Continue to Pekon, across the lake and into Samkar. Before calling it a day you will visit the local monastery.
It doesn’t matter if you have been here before, there is much to see in Inle Lake. You can visit monasteries, bike or kayak in the lake, or simply relax. You can fly to Yangon in the afternoon or stay overnight.
